Michael J. Sengewalt, CHE, CPA, Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, Fairmont General Hospital, Inc. (WV)
is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Healthcare Financial Managers Association. He has been affiliated with Fairmont General Hospital since 1986. Mr. Sengewalt assumed his current position in 1988, bringing to the job a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He has had experience in all aspects of financial management including financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, inventory control, tax-exempt bonds, etc. Mr. Sengewalt is responsible for general accounting, patient financial services, patient access (includes case management), pharmacy, materials management, health information management, information services and wound care. Mr. Sengewalt has extensive experience with software projects including with new hospital information system conversions, standalone and network financial modeling systems, Meditech, PACS, contract management systems, and several standalone, network and web based applications.
Philip Boyce, Senior Vice President, Baptist Healthcare System (FL)
is responsible for managed care strategy and implementation for 5 hospitals, employed primary care/specialty physician groups, and various ancillary companies. Mr. Boyce also spends significant time in revenue cycle process improvement. He worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida from 1984 – 1995 as Director of Network Development prior to being named Vice President of Managed Care for Baptist/St. Vincent’s Health System in Jacksonville in 1995. In 2000, Mr. Boyce was named Senior Vice President. Mr. Boyce has a B.A. in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University, Calif, and Master’s in Cultural Communications.
